problem with .jpeg vs .jpg

Hi,

I've been using gwenview for a while, but just discovered a strange
problem, it doesn't like files with .jpeg extensions, only .jpg. In the
browse mode, and also in the file browser from File|Open... I don't see
any files if they have an extension of .jpeg.

Also, if I really force it to open a .jpg file and subsequently use the
File|Open With command (eg, to open with Gimp, which I do a lot), then it
gets the wrong file!

I thought it might have been a file association problem, but checking with
konqueror, image/jpeg has filename patterns *.jpg, *.jpe and *.jpeg.

Strangely, just now attempting to reproduce it, I did File|Open, I don't
see the .jpeg file so I typed in moon.jpeg by hand and opened it. But now
when I do File|Open again I can see moon.jpeg in the file list, and also
File|Open With is working as expected. So, it might not be
reproducible:-(

Regards,
Ian

I realized I forgot to mention the version info.

Qt: 4.7.1
KDE Development Platform: 4.5.4 (KDE 4.5.4)
Gwenview: 2.5.2

This si on gentoo-amd64 (unstable)

Cheers,
Ian

Hi,

I thought this bug sounded unlikely, but I discover I can reproduce it
as well! I am investigating...

That is good, I am not nuts after all ;-)

I was thinking it might be some caching problem, since I'd created the
file after starting up gwenview. But with some more experiments I don't
think so. if I run 'touch dummy.jp[e]g' from a terminal while browsing
the same directory in gwenview I see the file appear immediately (whether
it is .jpg or .jpeg). But now I can't reproduce the original problem
either!

Cheers,
Ian

Actually I could not reproduce it anymore after trying to set up a test
case :/, but I definitely witnessed the bug. Not sure what I am going to
try next.
